How this Rose at outset sprung;

The Angel Came from Heaven’s tower
To honour Mary in her bower

To break the Devil’s Chain of woe.

Send the angel Gabriel to the Virgin Mary who is betrothed to Joseph.

By that Ave quoth Gabriel
Unbound is man from Eva’s fell
That henceforth we in heaven might dwell
