Leah Hamilton Jenkins
Alto Leah Hamilton Jenkins is a graduate of the University of Kansas and the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama. With a voice "full of warmth” (KC Metropolis) and a “gutsy soul sound“ (KC Independent), Jenkins has performed under the baton of Simon Carrington, Jing Ling Tam, Jo-Michael Scheibe, Hilary Apfelstadt and Andre Thomas. Active in opera and musical theatre, Jenkins has appeared with the Kansas City Lyric Opera Chorus, New Theatre Restaurant, Springfield Regional Opera (MO), Springfield Symphony Orchestra (MO), Springfield Contemporary Theatre (MO), and Springfield Little Theatre (MO). She was named in Go Magazine’s 20 under 30 (2008) and Springfield Business Journal’s top 40 under 40 (2009) for her work in the Arts. She currently serves as the Executive Director of the Springfield Regional Arts Council and is an adjunct music instructor at Missouri State University.
